NMI Strategic Areas
There are millions of people who have never experienced the gospel. Today, families, communities, and entire cities live without hope in Christ. We believe that God wants everyone to encounter the transforming message of the gospel.
Nazarene Missions International In Ashton
How we support NMI in our local church
Here in Ashton, we support missions by giving to the Alabaster Fund twice a year. The money collected for this goes to helping with missions buildings, such as Hospitals, manses, schools and churches. Rose Dawson’s church in Paraguay was built with the assistance of Alabaster Funds.
We also give to the World Evangelism Fund twice a year which looks after the needs of the missionaries. Unlike some other mission organisations Nazarene missionaries do not have to raise their own money to be able to stay and work on the mission field.
We give to worldwide appeals as and when they occur, for example this past year Ashton supported the Turkey/ Syrian earthquake appeal.
Several of our congregation here in Ashton have been on the Mission Field, Kevin and Ruth McCann, Violet Fawcett, Graham and Veronica Dawson to name just a few. And Katy Dawson who has been to both Russia and did part of her midwifery training in Papua New Guinea. Rev Carl McCann has visited many world areas. Annette Morley is a MK, A Missionary Kid. Pease ask any of these people about the work they have contributed to and their experiences.
